Animation showing reflection of water waves to form standing waves

Abstract

This animation illustrates the use of reflections of water waves to produce standing waves. The reflection coefficient can be varied to produce various mixes of standing and traveling waves. The phasors are also shown. This illustrates the concept of the standing wave ratio used heavily in communication wave technology.
